perspective

After sharing the one beer we had left in the house, D said to me I should go back to the store to get more.

"no, it's your turn."

Contemplating for a moment what might motivate me to go, he then said, "I'll go to 7-11 and get milk."

the horror.

I've seen people leave 7-11, or some such gas mart, jug of milk in hand.
My thoughts go something like this:
ew.  gross.
who's going to drink that?   I hope it's not children.
poor cows.  poor people.  our bodies don't even recognize such highly processed milk - ultra pasteurized then homogenized - as food.
I wouldn't drink that unless I was literally starving.
first world problems.
what an arrogant asshole I am.
I'm unbelievably fortunate to be able to buy good quality food whenever I want.

Not everyone has the same resources or information as I do.
It's helpful to remember that.
